Andrew Ciccone is a multimedia artist and trash collector from New York. Since migrating to London Andrew has doubled down on his artistic output with deep ventures into live improvisation, paper collage, metalwork, abstract videos and prose. He also runs the Navel-Gazers interview series with recording artists and the No Computers improv event series.

Xu Shaoyang was somehow discovered by Tori Kudo (maher shalal hash baz) in the early 2000s, Xu focuses on the live performance aspect of music, song-writing, arrangement, and re-arrangements by way of improvisation as vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

Isabel O.E. Anders (born in 2001) is a German/Cuban pianist, composer, and improviser based in Berlin. Her intention with improvisation is to conduct a musical dialogue with the other performers, and to let ideas and inspiration from various sources and art forms merge in a non-elitist manner into a timeless form of expression.

Manuel Miethe is a photographer and free improvising saxophonist based in Berlin.

As one of the few saxophonists who have devoted themselves exclusively to the soprano saxophone, he has engaged himself over the past two decades with developing an improvisational language and body of composition for this unique instrument.

Benedict Taylor is a leading figure within contemporary composition, modern string performance and improvised music in the British and European new music world. The central focus of his work is in new composition for live performance, film, theatre, contemporary dance, art installation and electro-acoustic composition. In performance, he predominantly works within improvisation, new composition and 20th/21st century music.

David Ryan is a visual artist and musician. He has long been associated with experimental music and improvisation, having performed with many distinguished musicians including Anton Lukoszevieze, John Edwards, Ian Mitchell, Alberto Popolla, John Tilbury, Luca Venitucci, Gianni Trovalusci amongst others.

Dominic Lash is a freely improvising double bassist and electric guitarist who the Free Jazz Collective has called an “exceptional creative musician”. He also both writes and performs composed music and, as an academic, researches and writes about film.

William Crosby is a British/Cypriot artist, musician, pedagogue, and agitator based in Cambridge/London, UK.

William’s research and practice explore the (communal) pedagogical possibilities of sound, investigating how knowledge and resistance are sonically mediated, and how these methods can stand as radical acts of co-working and solidarity building in an age of multiple overlapping crises. William is a member of artist-activist duo, (CWxWC), with Dr Cecilia Wee; sound-sedimentology research group, MUD Collective; and is a Wysing Arts Centre Artist.

Emil Karlsen is a Norwegian improvising drummer currently based in the UK. Described as “a real force on the UK improvised music scene”, he’s establishing himself working the span from free improvisation to free jazz. Occupied with the exploring timbral possibilities of the drum kit, he performs with Phil Wachsmann, John Butcher, Phil Durrant and Maggie Nicols to mention some. Apart from being an active performer, he’s central in the revitalisation of the historic Bead Records.
