Xu Shaoyang

Xu Shaoyang was somehow discovered by Tori Kudo (maher shalal hash baz) in the early 2000s, Xu focuses on the live performance aspect of music, song-writing, arrangement, and re-arrangements by way of improvisation as vocalist and multi-instrumentalist.

As an improviser over the years performed / shared bills with musicians as Lee Ranaldo, Ana Da Silva, Adam Bohman, Sue Lynch, John Edwards, Sholto Dobie, Zhu Wenbo, Li Song, Zheng Hao, Kaoru Abe No Future, Tomoko Sauvage, Prurient, Skaters, Bromp Treb, and more…

After years in Canada, Japan, and Scandinavia, Xu currently resides in London, England, where he launched and curates “under45db - microfest for low volume improvisations”
