One of our finest free thinking virtuosos
―Time Out
Kay Grant is a vocalist and improviser now relocated from London to Bristol, once tipped by TimeOut as “one of our finest free thinking virtuosos”. Using the voice as an instrumental component permeates her performance and underscores a commitment to the joy of ensemble playing. Her free approach is informed by an open-eared and open-armed path spanning styles and genres.
She has collaborated with a broad range of players including Alex Ward, Ntshuks Bonga, Jim Dvorak, Pat Thomas, John Russell, Hannah Marshall, Sarah Gail Brand and John Edwards in London, Paul Anstey, Mark Langford, Matthew Grigg and Bob Helson in Bristol, and Elliot Sharp, Shelley Hirsch and John Zorn in New York.
