Oliver Heron

Oliver Heron is a pianist, improviser and composer based in London. He originally studied jazz at Guildhall but later gravitated towards experimental music, and studied contemporary composition with Laurence Crane and Bára Gísladóttir.

Jasna Jovićević & Paul Jolly

Jasna Jovićević is a distinguished figure in the Serbian jazz scene, renowned for her versatility as a musician, composer, and artistic researcher. She is a master of multiple instruments, including the saxophone, bass clarinet, flute, and spacedrum. She has a BA in Jazz Saxophone Performance and Teaching from the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. She furthered her studies with an MA in Music Composition from York University in Toronto and culminated in a Ph.D. in Contemporary Arts and Media from Singidunum University in Belgrade, specializing in transdisciplinary studies.

Paul Jolly is a saxophonist, clarinettist and flutist working within the fields of contemporary improvised since 1969, when he joined the iconic People Band with whom he still performs.

Marilza Gouvea, Marcio Mattos & Mark Wastell

Marilza comes from a musical family in Brazil, her father played classical guitar and her grandfather was a maestro and music teacher. From an early age she got involved with music: bossa nova and Brazilian popular music.

Becoming involved in improvised music after moving to Europe, she has worked with many exponents of its artists such as Adrian Northover, Jim Dvorak, Terry Day, Phil Minton and Marcio Mattos.

Marcio Mattos is a much travelled and experienced improviser who can readily adapt and excel in every musical environment both in Double- Bass and Cello. His “success”, in this respect, is primarily due to the high level of commitment he makes in every situation faced. His presence can be heard in very many released CD’s and especially in his latest solo recordings: “SOL[os]” (EMANEM 5035)

Mark Wastell is a versatile improvising musician who has played a central role in the British improvised music scene for over a quarter of a century.

Neil Metcalfe, Barry John Edwards & Colin Somervell

Neil Metcalfe (flute), has been active on the London improvising scene since the 70’s.

Born in Chester, Barry John Edwards, also known as Bazmatronics is a musician, composer and improviser based in Wales, U.K. He is a graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in jazz and regular contributor to the improvisational scene in both the U.K and Spain. Barry is known for his music contribution to the Netflix series Spy Ops.

Colin Somervell is as happy performing melodic free improvisation or playing in neo rembetica bands (Trio Tekke) and is also in demand as a free jazz musician.
