Julian Woods is a guitarist, bassist and composer based in London, currently studying a postgraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music.

Steve Beresford is a British musician who graduated from the University of York.

He has played a variety of instruments, including piano, electronics, trumpet, euphonium, bass guitar and a wide variety of toy instruments, such as the toy piano.

Susanna Ferrar is a violinist with a special interest in site-specific improvisation. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and one of HT Ferrar’s grandchildren. She undertook her Postgraduate Certificate in Antarctic Studies (PCAS) at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2011-12, and, during this time, saw many of the places first visited and named by the men of “Discovery”. She has played her violin in Scott’s hut in Antarctica.

Tracy Lisk is a percussionist who mainly performs on drum set, based in Philadelphia PA. Lisk’s history as a painter informs the substance of her improvisations which contain references to rhythmic structures while maintaining a fluid, suspended continuity.

Jerry Wigens is a composer and improviser who plays guitar, mandolin and clarinets. He draws much of his inspiration from the natural world and is a keen naturalist and writer. His book Tails for Tethered Heads is a quirky jumble of prose and verse with occasional illustrations. He has been part of Eddie Prevost’s workshop in the past and plays with the London Improvisers Orchestra and with Dave Fowler and Ivor Kallin in the improvising electric trio Glowering Figs.

Marcio Mattos is a much travelled and experienced improviser who can readily adapt and excel in every musical environment both in Double- Bass and Cello. His “success”, in this respect, is primarily due to the high level of commitment he makes in every situation faced. His presence can be heard in very many released CD’s and especially in his latest solo recordings: “SOL[os]” (EMANEM 5035)

Alex Ward is a composer, improviser and performing musician (primarily on clarinet and guitar) based in London. He leads various ensembles under the heading of the Item Series to perform his compositions for improvising musicians, and he is a member of many other groups including legendary rock band Pere Ubu.
