Tomasz Glazik
Tomek Glazik is a Polish saxophonist, improviser, composer, sound engineer, and producer based in London. Originally from the small town of Cekcyn in western Poland, he has been active on the music scene since 1997. Glazik is known for his dynamic and expressive playing, specializing in high-energy improvised music that bridges free jazz and noise, while also exploring a wide range of electronic music.
Throughout his career, Glazik has collaborated with various ensembles and artists. He was a member of the Polish jazz ensemble Sing Sing Penelope, contributing to their genre-blending sound that mixes rock, ambient, and electronics. He also played with the quartet 4 Syfon, alongside trumpeter Janusz Zdunek, bassist Władysław Refling, and drummer Jacek Buhl. In addition to these collaborations, Glazik has worked with drummer Rafał Gorzycki, contributing bass clarinet and tenor saxophone to their projects.
In recent years, Glazik has released several solo and collaborative projects. His album “Unsettled Status” (2022) features him on tenor saxophone and electronic instruments, showcasing his ability to blend acoustic and electronic sounds. Another notable release is “Transcendence” (2023), a collaboration with drummer Sean Noonan. This album was recorded during their first rehearsal and is dedicated to the memory of free jazz pioneer Peter Brötzmann. Glazik continues to push musical boundaries while living in London with his family. He remains active in the experimental and improvisational music scenes, contributing to various projects and performances.
